Qollage FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. What browsers do you support?
We recommend Firefox - it's been the most reliable and given us the least problems while we developed Qollage. And it 's free.

We also support Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 6, Netscape 9, Safari and most other modern browsers. If you're still using Internet Explorer 6, we strongly recommend you upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 or switch to Firefox. If you want to use Firefox, but have some sites that require Internet Explorer, you can install a Firefox add-on. Two that will allow you to view IE only sites in Firefox are IE Tab  and IE View

If you still want to use IE6, please update it with the latest patches. IE6 can be slow running Web 2.0 sites. Click here to speed up your version of IE6.

2. Can I control who can see my Qollages?
Yes. You can create private Qollages then share them with only the people you want to view them.

When creating a new Qollage, check the Private checkbox at the bottom of the dialog to control who can view the Qollage. Only registered Qollage users you share the Qollage with can view it. You can also change any Qollage to private by opening the Qollage Properties dialog. While editing a Qollage, right-Click on the background of your Qollage and select Qollage Properties. Then check the Private checkbox. Be sure to share the Qollage with the users you want to view it.

Note: Qollages that aren't set to private can be viewed by anyone and may show up when users click the Random Qollage button

3. How many images can I upload?
The trial account is limited to 100 image uploads. If you reach the 100 limit and have more images you'd like to upload, remove some of your existing images. Or you can subscribe. There's no upload limits for subscribers. You can create as many Qollages and upload as many images as you want.

If you run out of image space, email us and we'll up your limit. We'll have accounts with higher limits soon.

4. Do you save the full resolution image?
No, when you upload to Qollage, the image is scaled down so the largest dimension is 1024 pixels.

5. Can I print my Qollages or pictures?
Not yet. We may offer that feature in the future if enough of our users request it.

6. How come there's no toolbar?
We wanted to give our users something as close to a blank page as we could to work with and reduce screen clutter including the number of buttons and links to a minimum. So we decided to put most of our actions in right-click context menus. If many users find that confusing, we may add some type of toolbar for the most used actions.

7. What file types do you support?
We support upload of JPG, PNG and GIF images.

8. Why does my Qollage look slightly different on some computers?
Unfortunately, each browser has slightly different rules for the way it displays your pages. Additionally, some users may override some of the browser settings to control the way pages appear. If the look of your pages is really, really important to you, we advise you view it in Firefox, IE7 and IE6 and possibly Safari before sending out your links.

9. Can I speed up my uploads?
The fastest way to add files to Qollage is to use the Java uploader. It resizes your images before uploading, so it's much faster. To use it, login and click "Edit Settings" on your Qollages page, then click to turn on the Java radio button. Be sure to check that you've got the latest version of Java installed.
